Returning back to Panama in 2024, I captured the atmosphere created by the lush cloud forests within the Chagres National Park. My attention was drawn to eerie mist lying low in the high-altitude rainforest of Cerro Azul. A veil of fog that transforms the landscape into a scene for a science-fiction film. The interplay of the artificial lighting and trees enhance this mysterious setting. A subtle orangery-red glow emerges in the distance, suggesting the possibility of an otherworldly encounter. This composition suggests a disorientation that explores the ways in which light, atmosphere, and nature can suggest alternate spaces.
